Our Story
Basadi’s Kitchen and Confectionery is a family-owned business based in Soweto, South Africa. Our founder, Chef Milly, is passionate about cooking and baking, and has always dreamed of owning her own food business. In 2018, she finally achieved her goal and opened Basadi’s Kitchen and Confectionery, a 100% female and black-owned company.
We take pride in the quality of our products, and strive to use only the freshest and best ingredients. Our menu includes a variety of takeaway food, including traditional South African favorites like bunny chow, as well as a range of baked goods and confectionery items.
One of our specialties is our bunny chow, which many of our customers have declared to be the best in Soweto. It’s a traditional South African dish that consists of a half-loaf of bread that’s been hollowed out and filled with a spicy curry. It’s a hearty and satisfying meal that’s perfect for lunch or dinner.
In addition to our takeaway food, we also have a bakery in Mapetla, where we make a range of delicious baked goods.
